There is a common saying in poker that goes something like this. You sit down at a table and after a short time period if you cannot identify who the suckers and fish are the players that you will be extracting the money from THAN you maybe the sucker.
Here are the issues to avoid to not being the sucker for sports books:
Suckers need action. If it is a “big” high profile game the sucker has to bet it and usually for more than his standard unit. Pros wait it out until an event provides value in other words weakness in the line. It could come on the Super Bowl or a regular season game with the 2 worst teams in the NBA. Value is value and the money earned is the same regardless of the match-up.
Suckers constantly over bet their bankroll. Running out of funds having to replenish their account or worse having to go to the sidelines until they get more money. Pros will NEVER risk more than 2% of their bankroll on any single play.
Suckers have no instincts no feel that they can rely on to read between the lines to guide them in the decision making process. Pros use their full tool box to analyze every game including their guts and vast experience.
Suckers are not line sensitive. They do not respect the line maker. They pick a side they “think” will win and bet it regardless of price. If the line is moving against them they chase the number and still bet it. Later they are left wondering why they lost by half a point. Pros will not bet unless they get the exact price they require. The national anthem is played many times all over the world every day.
Suckers have 1 sports book account leaving them totally at the mercy of the line that sports book has available. Pros have numerous sports book accounts open as needed to support their unit and ensure they get the best price possible, hence dramatically increasing their bottom line on a yearly basis.
Suckers are forever depositing funds at the sports books. Sports book are taking their cut and passing the balance on to the pros.
Please I beg you if you see some of the characteristics of a sucker in your sports betting business STOP and take the necessary steps as detailed above to become part of the pro group. It is far more enjoyable and profitable.
