When analyzing the statistics of bad teams remember they are actually worse than what has been recorded. Good teams let up in the latter stages of a game; replace their starters for bench players or did not take the game from the start that seriously to begin with simply turning it on at the end to get the straight up win. However you will on certain occasions find a spot where the good team is going to focus for the full game. Perhaps they have a bye coming up or they are coming off a bad game and want to let out their frustrations getting their confidence back.

With NCAAF and NFL seasons turn the corner to the stretch run there are a few areas to put additional emphasis on.
The ability for a team to have an effective rushing offense is critical. The combination of bad weather making it difficult to throw the ball and defenses are worn down beat up. Conversely the ability to stop the run as the season winds down is equally important.

In all sports when the season gets going the betting starts in fact in NFL we bet the pre-season as well. The exception is NCAAB where in the first month we are watching and following the lines intensely but seldom have a wager. Most games are comprised of top ranked teams playing cupcakes. Top ranked teams getting their rotations down for upcoming conference play.

Sports betting is all about finding value. Similar to finding gold it is not just sitting there to be picked up it is hidden; you have to mine for it. We handicap the 4 major North American sports. Personally watching hockey is my least favorite sport. So what, this is not about fun and entertainment it is all about making money, it is an investment.

In a perfect world everyday there would be many games that have value. The greater total dollars bet over the course of the year the greater profit in absolute dollars when you have a positive return on investment as I do year after year. However realistically how many games on a given day can there be weaknesses in the line. Regardless whether it is zero games or ten games on a given day your bankroll and mental approach should be prepared for either scenario. Your focus should be on value not quantity.
