Sacramento Kings-Minnesota Timberwolves Under: Part of the reason for the high number is the whopping 121 Minn gave up to Sa last night. This will now be the 3rd game in 4 nights for Minn. They are devastated by injuries. 3 starters are out and you can now add guard Martin to this list. Their bench is thin they are tired and the only way they can compete in this game even at home is to slow it right down.
Oklahoma City Thunder- Denver Nuggets Under: This game will be a battle of wills. Den is #1 in pace although they do not shoot a high %. Okc will be playing their 4th game in 6 nights. Ut last night now they have to go to the altitude of Den. In addition with all the injuries on Okc the only way they can compete even under ideal conditions is to slow the pace and play defense. Okc def FG % ranks 5th.
Atlanta Hawks over Cleveland Cavaliers: Atl will be playing their 4th game in 6 nights and that is part of the reason the line is so high. However part of the strength of Atl is their depth and balanced scoring. In addition they had an easy ride at home last night going wire to wire in beating Mia. Clev also played last night in Bost but it was anything but easy. Clev needed a big 4th quarter rally to win by 1 point.
Utah Jazz over New York Knicks: Neither one of these teams are going to be confused with a playoff team. At least Ut has a partial excuse having faced a tougher schedule and resides in the more difficult Western division. In addition Ut is not being asked to win outright let alone cover a spread.
New Orleans Pelicans over Cleveland Cavaliers: Clev returns from a 4 game west coast trip to play at home opening night Oct 30th. Chemistry is still a work in progress for this team and it is going to take at least half the year if not more.
Golden State Warriors over Phoenix Suns: Phx continues to get too much respect from the markets. We faded them last time out again Sac and won outright in double OT. Despite a very easy early schedule they are just 3-3 on the year and have lost the last 2 in a row at home. Phx rotation is unsettled especially at guard where they are trying to rotate 3 equally and it is just not working.
Sacramento Kings over Phoenix Suns: It is early in the season but one of the pleasant surprises is Sac. Sac after an opening night loss to GS has won 4 in a row incl wins over LAC & Port. Phx is 3-2 but 2 of those wins have come against the LAL.
Memphis Grizzlies over Phoenix Suns: Both teams are off to a great start. It will be the visitors the more rested team. Phx played last night against the Lal and were hoping for an easier ride. The 1st half played out that way however the 2nd half Lal made a run and Phx was on fumes having to play their starters much more than they wanted to. Phx is already 0-1 ATS on no days’ rest.
Miami Heat over Charlotte Hornets: Both teams have surprised early on in the season. For Mia it is good for Charl not so much. Bosh has really stepped up with the departure of James. Charl should be 0-4 other than the miracle win in OT vs. Mil to start the year.
Milwaukee Bucks over Washington Wizards: Wash has their home opener tonight. Both teams are 1-1. Wash lost in Mia than beat Orl which is irrelevant. Mil lost in OT to Charl a game they should have won and then last night did not break a sweat beating the worst team in the NBA Phil. This will be 3 in 4 for Mil but this early in the season is irrelevant and given who they played and how the game went makes it meaningless.
