Sports Book News 01/08/17 (more...)

Exciting news for those of you in the UK. Pinnacle sports book the Cadillac of the industry has applied for their UK license and hopes to be back operating in the country the first half of this year.
For those of you in countries where Pinnacle presently does not operate like the U.S. hold on because it is my opinion that it will not be long before Pinnacle is back operating there as well.

Last Day Sports Betting 2016 BRING on 2017! 01/01/17 (more...)

The last sports betting day for this year will be today Sunday January 1. We close off every week on Sunday nights. Today will be the last day of week 52 for 2016. We track our overall stats as well as the same stats broken down for each individual sport. The overall stats are closed off and started anew every calendar year while the individual sports stats are closed off when that sport ends for a particular season.

Telling it Like it Is 12/25/16 (more...)

Keep accurate records of your bets. Document the logic behind your bets. Reviewing the outcome of your bets after the fact is almost as important as your initial handicapping that led to the bet. However this post game analysis must be performed objectively eliminating the sour grapes about a bad call or a player that let you down etc. etc. Did you win based on solid handicapping? Did the game play out the way you thought it would? Did you win despite yourself or did you incur a bad beat? Be honest with yourself.

Beware Small Sample Sizes 12/11/16 (more...)

It is easy to draw conclusions off of small sample sizes. Be aware this leads to BIG mistakes. How many times have you asked yourself how can a team look so good one night and then so bad the very next night against a weaker opponent?
The answer is easier than you think. We are in the business of predicting outcomes of sporting events played by humans. Humans by nature are unpredictable especially in the short term. The shorter the time spans the more volatile the results will be. Everyone has off nights.

Let's Go Bowling NCAAF Style 12/04/16 (more...)

Over the next month the college football bowl games will be played culminating with the playoff format to determine a champion.
Handicapping bowl games is a totally different beast than handicapping games during the regular season.
Look to play ON double digit underdogs in the minor bowl games. If you are a big favorite in a game like this it indicates more was expected from you this season and this bowl game is a disappointment. The larger the underdog in games like this the greater the motivation and reward to actually be playing in a bowl game.

5 Tools for Your Handicapping Chest 11/27/16 (more...)

Over the course of your sports betting career, you are going to lose a chunk of wagers for a million different reasons. A missed field goal A meaningless 3 pointer. A wild pitch. An empty net goal. The list goes on and on.
Some of these bet busting phenomena are out of your hands and are just part of the 45-47% no matter how good we are that are going to end up in the loss column. However some losing bets leave you smacking yourself in the forehead wondering “What the heck was I thinking?”

Our Motto Our Mission 11/20/16 (more...)

Since we are right into one of the busiest parts of the year I think it is a good time to review. “Sports betting as a business” it is on the header of my website it is on every page of my website. From Day 1 even in the not so successful times I approached sports betting from this perspective.
With me there are no bells and whistles. There are NO locks NO games of the year NO ridiculous claims. What you do get is honesty integrity transparency accurate records and realistic expectations. What you do get is consistent long term profits.

Choosing a Sports Book 11/13/16 (more...)

Weekly I get inquires asking for help because a sports bettor is having trouble with a particular sports book. It ranges from inaccurate grading of a bet to being cut off for winning to simply not being paid.
I will repeat for those of you that are new. The sports books represented on my site are the best in the industry. I carry substantial balances at all of them. I have been dealing with these particular books for 10+ years. I have NEVER personally had even the smallest of issue with any of them.

Fan vs. Bettor 11/06/16 (more...)

I assume all of you are in this to make money either as a business or a hobby. I also assume like myself you love to watch as many games as you possibly can in every sport we handicap. Not only the games you have bets on but also games that provide scouting opportunities for potential future bets of teams to bet on or against. Realize you cannot get a full handle on a team or how a game played out simply from a box score.
