Stay away from parlays, prop bets, first half second half bets, or any other wild options where the enticement is risk a little to win a bunch. The ONLY bets in this area you will see me make is 6 point teasers in the NFL where I am able to buy points taking me through the key numbers of 3 and 7. Also in MLB you will see me make on occasion a 5 inning bet to take the bullpens out of play. Forget about buying points or any other crazy options unless you just want to hand over your money to the sports books.
Sure you get paid 10-1 on your money when you do hit however trust me when I say you cannot hit them consistently enough to turn a profit in the long term. Instead of making 1 bet on 4 teams make 4 bets on the 4 teams separately. That way when you go 3-1 you will turn a nice profit rather than cursing that 4th team that lost your huge return parlay bet.
First half and second half wagering along with live betting has become very popular over the last few years. Remember the shorter the time spans of your bet the greater the risk for randomness in your results.
