Last Day Sports Betting Year 2012 BRING on 2013! 12/30/12 (more...)

For sports betting bookkeeping purposes today represents the last betting day for 2012. For record keeping we close off every week on Sunday nights. Today Sunday December 30 represents the last day of week 52 for 2012. We track our overall stats as well as the same stats broken down for each individual sport. The consolidated stats (all sports) are tracked daily than summarized on a weekly and calendar year basis. The individual sports stats are also tracked with the same information on a daily and weekly basis the only difference those stats are closed off when that sport ends for a particular season rather than on a calendar year basis.
It sounds rather intensive but it really takes very little time. 5 minutes on a daily basis and 10 minutes on Sunday. If you are unsure about what stats you should track you can either contact me or refer to my grapevine of 12/18/11 entitled record keeping. For your convenience the link is pasted below. http://professionalsportshandicapping.com/blog/2011/12/18/record-keeping-121811-more/
2012 was a good year not a great year. Our ROI will come in at 6.522%. Our ROI in a “normal “year will range 3-7% so we are at the upper end of that range. That range is based on my 20+ years of tracking my results. On a great year we are over 7% on a down year we are less than 3%. Volume was less than usual and that can be mainly attributed to no NHL.
Now that we are about to begin the journey of 2013 I cannot stress the importance of record keeping enough. Without record keeping it is impossible for you to determine how well you are doing and how well you are shopping for the best lines. It would be like operating a conventional business and not preparing cash flows and financial statements.
I would like to tell you that each year is the same and your bankroll and profits will grow in a straight line. That would be lying. Every year is different however the finish is very similar. Some years we get off to fast starts and then middle other years we are in a loss position as late as September before we turn the corner. In over 20+ years of doing this I have seen many different paths to the finish line. Regardless we all know patience and proper money management is the key to long term success.
Let us all take this journey together and have a great 2013 with massive profits!
