The Perfect Result 11/24/13 (more...)

There is a myth that a “perfect result” is when you cash your ticket with ease. Obviously from a stress standpoint that is true. However the “perfect” outcome is when we win and the markets do not take notice. This will allow us to put those same edges in play again.
When you have a vast difference in the last game result i.e. say LAC were -5.0 over Atl and LAC win by 25. Guess what the market will put heavy emphasis on that 1 result. The next game out LAC will be overvalued Atl undervalued. Conversely let us say LAC were up 20 in the 4th quarter put in the bench and only win by 6 still allowing us to cash our ticket. Well next time out we may still have a chance to bet on LAC while some will see Atl has value because they gave LAC a battle when they really did not. That is why you cannot effectively handicap from box scores when you do not know how the game flowed.
Remember the pendulum swings both ways and as with an investment you want to but in at the lowest price and sell at the highest price. Going beyond the final results and box scores will help you to do this.
