Sports Books DO Love Baseball 08/11/13 (more...)

Contrary to popular belief sports books do make decent money off of baseball. They just do not make it from me or people who follow my picks. Bettors believe it is easy to make money at baseball because you just have to pick the straight up winner no point spreads. To a degree they are right however value still plays a huge role as to whether you have a profitable season over a 162 game schedule. If you continue to lay heavy juice on games that do not substantiate it well you will be contributing to the sports books in a way you do not want to.
In Nevada alone sports books made 10.6 million dollars in the first 2 months of the baseball season. Volume was also up over 20%. You can on average multiply those numbers 30 fold to start to take into account off shore. Nevada is down to less than 3% of the sports betting industry.
Remember everyone has good and bad week’s months even seasons. Do not get too excited when things are going well or too low when bad beats and losing streaks occur. You will become prone to burn out or chasing. Long term consistency is what counts.
