Can you say rematch? Yes it will be New York vs. New England as it was 4 years ago. New York won 4 years ago 17-14 in one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history. If you recall New England was unbeaten heading into this game and were a double digit favorite.
Now let us fast forward to this year. The line opened at -3.5 New England and has been bet down as low as 2.5 settling in at most places at 3.0.
New England’s defense cannot be trusted. We won with Baltimore covering the spread and we won with New York winning outright against another defense in Green Bay that also could not be trusted.
If you ranked these teams strongest to weakest it would be the New England offense, than the New York defense followed by New York offense and lastly the New England defense. If New England is to win this game they will need a run like in basketball where they score 10 to 24 unanswered points because New York is going to get theirs as well.
I will not be posting my pick in this article there is a week to go and more work to do. What I will mention however and I am not trying to put a damper on your enthusiasm however the Super Bowl is 1 game the last game of this football year BUT just because it is the Super Bowl you still just risk 1 unit. I draw the comparison to New Year’s Eve where all the amateurs come out to party. All the amateurs bet this game but you are a professional and this is just 1 bet over the course of 1,000’s of bets you make over the course of the year.
