March Madness Handicapping 03/11/12 (more...)

1)Forget about the recently finished conference tournaments. March Madness is a different beast. There is no carryover of momentum for teams that performed well in the conference tournaments. In fact some coaches could care less about the conference tournaments choosing to focus on the big dance.
2)March Madness games are held on neutral courts or are they? Look for teams that are playing close to home where their supporters can easily get to the games.

March Madness Office Pools 03/04/12 (more...)

Let us get the most obvious statement out of the way first. When filling out your brackets the MOST important thing is to pick the eventual champion. Most pools are weighted to the elite 8 and beyond. If you focused so much on the early games and not enough of your teams survived to the later rounds where the majority of points are earned well you have no chance.

Change is the only constant 02/19/12 (more...)

During the course of a long season often teams will go through a major change.
This could come in the form of how the team plays or from personnel changes. The point is the markets are usually slow to react and struggle to catch up. This will give you a window of time where you will be able to find value in a play on or a play against mode of a particular team.
Events that cause these situations to arise include:
Coaching change, a major trade, injuries either someone going on the DL or coming off the DL, a QB change, shake up of the starting roster.

Quickie Reminders 02/12/12 (more...)

Bet against public opinion. This is where you find the value and weaknesses in the line.
Do not play catch-up “chasing” by increasing your wagers when losing.
What you save is what you earn. Shop! Shop! Shop! Have a minimum of 3-5 sports book accounts to ensure you get the best lines possible regardless of the size of your bets. Everything is relative.
Be prepared. Do your homework. You are only as good as your information.
Risk the same amount on each game. Flat betting at 2% of your bankroll per game is the long term money management plan to success.

Super Bowl XLVI New York Giants vs. New England Patriots 01/29/12 (more...)

Can you say rematch? Yes it will be New York vs. New England as it was 4 years ago. New York won 4 years ago 17-14 in one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history. If you recall New England was unbeaten heading into this game and were a double digit favorite.
Now let us fast forward to this year. The line opened at -3.5 New England and has been bet down as low as 2.5 settling in at most places at 3.0.

Right side Right price Cannot have one without the other 01/22/12 (more...)

Make money at Sports Betting obvious primary goal. How? Handicap and pick more winners than loser’s right. Kinda ! If the best team won every time out we all would be millionaires already.
If there is nothing else you ever listen to or read from my betting tips BUT this piece of advice well here is the key. “Find the right side at the right price.” One without the other and long term you will not survive. Is it too early to talk Baseball 01/15/12 (more...)

Do you realize that in less than 45 days pitchers and catchers report for spring training? In my opinion there is no other sport that has a greater anticipation for opening day than major league baseball. The beginning of spring and the 162 game marathon over the hot summer months that make up the season concluding with the drama of the fall classic.
