Seattle Mariners over Toronto Blue Jays: We lost last time out with Paxton but it will not deter us from coming right back on him. He struck out 16 A’s in 7 inngs the bullpen coughed up that game losing 3-2. Paxton now has a whopping 60K in 38 inngs with only 16BB. Paxton when you go beyond the surface numbers of a 4.19 ERA projects out to an even better XERA of 3.57. Stroman had his best start of the year last time out but that is not saying much given how bad he has pitched. Tor is 6-6 vs. LH so far on the season.

Seattle Mariners over Oakland Athletics: Oak is 6-6 vs. Lh while Sea is 5-2. Sea is 6-1 in their last 7. We have played on Paxton this year already when the price was right. No denying his stuff. Problem occurs when he gets wild and pitch count gets up in a hurry. Anderson is a 30 year old journeymen already. This is his 2nd stint with Oak. He split last year between the cubs and blue jays. This will be his 1st start after getting called from AAA Nash. We get a small-med adv in starting pitching a small adv on offense and a med adv in the bullpen.

Philadelphia Phillies over MIami Marlins: Arrieta was a late big signing by Phil. An abbreviated spring his 1st start was against Mia gave up 3 runs in the first and than settled down. Since that 1st start he has progessively become better rounding into form. This will now be the 1st start of the year for Straily who has been out with a right forearm inflammation. Straily was effective in his minor league re-hab starts and he is a workhorse but this is about tonight and even with a relatively clean trip I do not see him going more than 6 inngs.
