Florida St. Seminoles over Virginia Cavaliers: Virg is home and cooled off. Nothing short of a major collapse they will be a #1 seed. Virg is a very avg offensive club however defensively they are probably the best in the country. Flor St. is just as good offensively on the defensive side obviously not hence the line. However always like to take a serious look when a game has this high a line with such a low total. There is very little room for error for a Virg club to cover given their limitations on offense.
St. Joseph’s Hawks over St. Bonaventure Bonnies: We get to lay a very small price at home with 2 evenly matched teams. Sjoe has played a more difficult schedule. On 01/18 at home SBon beat SJoe 70-61 as a 5.5 point favorite. All that result does is keep this line lower than it should be.
Virginia Cavaliers over Pittsburgh Panthers: This line is specifically designed to try and attract money on Pitts. The line has been coming down and now it has reached our buy target. Virg has the best defense in the country. This has a very low total further enticing Pitts money. Virg is just 1-5 ATS in their last 6.
Northern Arizona Lumberjacks over Weber St. Wildcats: Weber St. is just 5-7 within conf play. They are 1-6 ATS at home. Web st went into N. Ariz on Jan 15 as a 3 point dog and won outright 74-65. N. Ariz is the better team they are 7-4 in the conf.
Washington St. Cougars over Arizona St. Sun Devils: This is a game of hot vs. cold and we are taking cold. The line for this game is an overreaction. Ariz St. is 1-6 s/u on the road they are 1-4 s/u on the road in conf play. Wash St. is just 1-6 s/u in their last 7 but are 6-3 s/u at home. In a game they do not have to win given the points to get us to the cashiers window we get value on the home team.
Illinois State Redbirds over Northern Iowa Panthers: Ill St. is one of those under the radar teams that have improved through the year. They have a 4 guard lineup that is tough to prepare for. N Iowa has won 11 in a row and have climbed all the way to #12. They are a good team not a great team and a weak rebounding team. Under the adage buy low sell high we will sell now.
Nc State Wolfpack over Virginia Cavaliers: Last night we won fading Kent on the road and tonight we will do so again with the #3 team Virg. Virg is an excellent defensive team however spotting substantial points especially on the road with an avg offensive team is not a good idea. Usually I do not mention injuries because they are fully factored in the line but the loss of Anderson for Virg in my opinion is not fully accounted for. Anderson is Virg 2nd leading scorer and best 3 point shooter.
Louisiana State Tigers over Kentucky Wildcats: Take nothing away from Kent obviously they are still undefeated ranked #1. However when you bet on a team like this you will always pay a premium. Kent is just 3-7 ATS in their last 10. This will be their likely last tough test until the conf tourney.
Illinois Chicago Flames over Detroit Titans: Tough to make a case for UIC just not a very good team. However taking back this amount of points against Det who also has little to play for until conf tourney time is good value.
IPFW Ft. Wayne Mastadons over Oral Roberts Golden Eagles: Both teams are playing very well. IPFW have won 4 in a row and are on the verge of turning their season around. On Jan 17th they lost on the road to OR 62-58 as a 7.5 point dog.
