Indianapolis Colts over Philadelphia Eagles: Both teams fell behind last week. Phil rallied from 17 down against Jack while Indi fell behind Den by 24 before rallying to cover. Both defenses are weak both starting Qb’s are good this game shapes up as a high scoring back and forth affair. The team like usual that avoids turnovers and gets the odd stop will win this game.
Cincinnati Bengals over Atlanta Falcons: The Atl offense at least was impressive last week in beating NO. Cinci win over Balt on the road even more impressive given Cinci was having to settle for FG in the red zone instead of TD’s which would have made the final score even more glaring.
Baltimore Ravens over Pittsburgh Steelers: We get a favorable line tonight for 2 main reasons. People banking on the Rice distraction as being an issue for Balt. Balt was prepared to play without Rice far before this. If Balt does not win tonight it will have nothing to do with the Rice controversy. Second is last week’s result. Balt played a decent game at home against a very good Cinci team. They were burned on 2 long balls to Green.
Carolina Panthers over Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Both teams have made big changes and not necessarily for the better. McCown will start for TB. Newton is hurting but will start. I see Car taking a step back this year they lost all 4 of their receivers but there defense is still going to be very good. The RB tandem is very good as well.
St. Louis Rams over Minnesota Vikings: This line is simply an overreaction to Bradford out for the year and Hill taking over. Hill at 34 years old will not be intimidated. Regardless he is at home and he is no worse than Cassel that is for sure.
Green Bay Packers over Seattle Seahawks: Whenever you play on the super bowl champ you will be paying a premium and tonight is no exception. Sea is solid and they will be a contender again this year no doubt. Sea has one of the strongest home field advantages in the league. However if there is 1 team in the league that will not be intimidated in this environment it will be GB.
New York Giants over New England Patriots: Week 4 of the pre-season is the most erratic with most coaches taking a last look at players on the bubble and keeping starters off the field given the regular season is about to start. However this game is the exception. Belichick could care less about this game and if Brady sees more than 1 series that will be a shock. That will leave Mallett and Garoppolo to play most of this game.
Indianapolis Colts over New Orleans Saints: Just the fact NO is 2-0 and Indi is 0-2 we get a favorable line. Indo went 0-2 vs. the NY team but pay no attention to k hardly played in the first game the 2nd Indi had a 26-0 lead through three against the Giants and when the subs came on they game up 27 unanswered. Luck will likely play the 1st half and the offense has looked good but the defense which had troubles last year has been revamped and looking very good. This will be a good test for them as the NO offense has also looked good. However at the best of times NO does not travel well.
Pittsburgh Steelers/Philadelphia Eagles Under: This total has been climbing since the line was released. Part of the reason is the Phil high speed hurry up offense under Kelly which has resulted in the first 2 games totaling 77 and 72 points. However this will be the best defense Phil has seen so far and although all the Phil weapons will likely play the first half so will the Pitts defense.
Cleveland Browns over Washington Redskins: We lost with Clev last time out with a late TD in Det during the time all the players that are not going to make team are on the field. So I will not put much stock in that however most of our assumptions played out during the game as expected.
